BEAUTY REVIEW
NEUTROGENA
ULTIMATE MOISTURE DAY CREAM

neutrogena_daycream1During some research at work, I came across
Neutrogena's Ultimate Moisture Day Cream which
contained an active ingredient of Soy.

And as dermatologists believe, Soy is possibly
the ultimate ingredient for anti-ageing skincare,
 but I was more interested
in what it could
 do for the long run.

 Neutrogena's Ultimate Moisture Day Cream
contains Glycine Soja, an extract from
Soy protein which has been long known for its
soothing and protection against insect pests
ever since the Ancient times, when using plants
was the only way known to treat minor
skin conditions and was used for cleansing,
 moisturizing and covering up blemishes.

Today, it is considered an Active ingredient in skincare because  it also contains
Vitamin C, Retinol, Glycolic and Hyaluronic Acid, all in which are effective ingredients
for achieving beautiful and healthy looking skin. Further research has also shown that Soy
has natural anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects on the skin- because Soy contains a powerful organic compound called Isoflavones.

img_isoflavones In skincare, Isoflavones help to stimulate collagen
production which improves the skin's supporting
structure by providing it with the elasticity it needs.
It has also been widely used, and is clinacally proven
 to combat hyper-pigmentationblemishes, evening out
skin tone and helps to provide protection against
 free radicals and UV damage.

Isoflavones is not only used in skincare, but it has
also been shown that regular consumption of soybean
have favourable effects on health- reducing the
risk of breast, colon, and prostate cancers, heart disease, osteoporosis and menopause.

And as well as being low in fat and cholestrol (and calories too!)- I guess there's really
no cons in including it to your everyday diet.

Neutrogena's Ultimate Moisture Day Cream contains very nourishing and noteable
ingredients such as Ethylhexyl Salicylate (an excellent skin conditioner
with sunsreen properties,) Lactoferrin (a natural anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and
anti-fungal ingredient,) Panthenol (vitamin B5, the skin conditioner) and
Zinc gluconate (known to treat and heal acne blemishes.)

The only point I have to make about this product is that it has a very subtle shimmer,
which I am guessing is from the ingredient Mica that they've used as a color additive-
which has a sparkly white appearance. I don't really have a problem with this because
the product has done very well so far.

The product claims to give-

"Immediate Comfort: moisturizes instantly to leave skin feeling softer and smoother.
Long-lasting comfort: nourishes throughout the day, keeping skin hydrated and soft."

I think this is one of the products I have come across throughout the years of being
in this beauty industry that is probably spot-on.

neutrogena_daycream2

It doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy and it absorbs very easily leaving my skin
moisturized all day. Hence why I also think it works as an excellent make-up base
providing the skin with moisture and a soft 'canvas' to work on plus with SPF 15,
you have the extra protection you need.

My skin is definately softer and smoother than it already is.
My skin was normal to combination skin when I used this product- and it felt
very comfortable with it. It is really ultimately made for dry skin- but I'd say it would
definately benefit
normal, dry, or oily/dry combination skin types.
I've read some online reviews by users with oily skin types- and all of them have
given it an average of 8/10 which is considerably high. All have claimed it to
have visibly reduced blemishes. One review claimed it to have "cleared up skin
completely and makes me look far better and healthier." See more reviews here.

If you've tried Neutrogena products then you will know that all of them have
the same similar fragrance- I don't really have a problem with it (I think it
smells quite lovely), or at least if I did I guess it is bearable.
Anyway, all in all, I think it is a great product.
And for just 6.84 GBP, it deserves my 5/5 hearts.

Dermalogically tested. Non-comedogenic.
You can find Neutrogena Ultimate Day Cream SPF 15 from your local Boots stores,
and it is also available in a night cream.

For more product information please visit:
www.neutrogena.com
www.boots.com

Rating:  5/5
Pros: Definately the Ultimate Day Cream. Absorbs quickly, leaves skin feeling soft,
smooth and moisturized all day. SPF 15. Cheap.
Cons: None.

Aveeno also have a Natural Actives Soy product range which is worth checking out.

I will definitely have to check it out. I worry about moisturizers being too heavy on my face, so I often end up using a light moisturizer with salicylic acid. I use Clean & Clear's daily moisturizer, what is your opinion on that, have you used it before? I have oily/sensitive skin.

I'm almost out of my Neutrogena anti-oxident age reverse day cream. I'll give this a go if it's in my budget of the week.

My skin is very dry though, so will it work for dry skin??

I absolutely LOVE this product.
I've been reading you for a few months now, since the end of December, but couldn't comment until now due to having FireFox as my browser!

I adore what you do here, and encourage you to keep it up (though I know it must be stressful!)

I had a question; do you use a toner ? I've recently started using this new one I found by L'Oreal, but I'm unsure if I should use it before or after I use my BodyShop Vitamin C Skin Boost in the morning... I've been using the Toner first.
